#LightUpMariah Social Media Awareness Campaign

Oct. 28, 2015 is the eighth anniversary of the death of Mariah McCarthy. Mariah’s Challenge is once again asking residents, businesses, and organizations to turn on their porch lights or light a candle in a show of remembrance of angels who have departed before their time because of alcohol, suicide, cancer, or other tragedies. The #LightUpMariah event has become an annual event each October 28, with the goal of becoming a talking point for families to discuss and remember our loved ones.

Simply take a picture of your porch light or a candle, and post your picture on Facebook or Instagram using the hashtag #LightUpMariah. In the photo caption, we encourage you to include your location and the reason or person you are honoring.
